The history and hauntings of the Loraine Warren Occult Museum
Lorraine Warren is a world-renowned psychic and demonologist who, along with her late husband Ed, founded the New England Society for Psychic Research and the Warren Occult Museum. The Warrens' work has been featured in numerous books and films, most notably The Conjuring franchise.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Mrs. Warren about her life and work, and she did not disappoint. Below are some highlights from our conversation.
On her early life and how she got into the occult:
I come from a family of psychics and mediums. My mother was a very gifted psychic, and she passed her gift down to me. As a young girl, I would often have premonitions or see things that other people couldn't see.
I got interested in the occult after meeting my husband, Ed. He was a World War II veteran who had seen a lot of things that most people can't even imagine. He was also very interested in the paranormal, and together we started investigating hauntings and helping people who were being terrorized by demons.
On the Warren Occult Museum:
The Warren Occult Museum is a place where we display some of the artifacts that we have collected over the years. Many of these items are cursed or possessed, and they are all very dangerous. We have had to take precautions to make sure that people are safe when they visit the museum.
We also use the museum as a teaching tool. We offer classes on subjects like demonology and exorcism, and we use the artifacts to help illustrate what we are teaching.
On the work she and her husband did:
My husband and I were very busy during our careers. We investigated hundreds of hauntings, and we helped countless people who were being terrorized by demons. We also wrote several books about our experiences, and we were featured in a number of films and TV shows.
One of the most important things we did was to help train other people who wanted to do this work. We taught them how to investigate hauntings and how to deal with demons. We also founded the New England Society for Psychic Research, which is a group that helps people who are experiencing paranormal activity.
On her advice for people who are interested in the occult:
My advice for people who are interested in the occult is to be very careful. This is not something to be taken lightly. There are very real dangers involved, and people need to be prepared before they investigate a haunting or try to help someone who is being terrorized by a demon.
If you are not careful, you could end up getting hurt, or worse. So please, be careful.
